Analytics, Interfaces, and Cloud Technology

Large companies have been using the power of business analytics for quite a while now. Your company desires to get in on the action; company executives believe that using advanced data analysis will enable the company to make smarter decisions and improve business performance. Business analytics gives companies the ability to look at past realizations and performance as well as set up new expectations and performance goals. Analytics-as-a-Service is a new delivery model that uses cloud technology to provide business insights without enormous infrastructure enhancements. The executive team has heard great things about analytics and cloud technology but is apprehensive because they are unfamiliar with the look and feel of the technology. The executive team is interested in your recommendations and eagerly awaiting your forward-thinking viewpoint.
Section 1: Design Document
1. Write a four to six (4-6) page design document in which you:
· Support the need for the use of analytics and cloud technology within this company.
· Create a workflow diagram to illustrate how analytics and cloud technology could align with the company’s business processes. Note: The graphically depicted solution is not included in the required page length but must be included in the design document appendix.
· Create three to five (3-5) screen layouts that illustrate the interface that organizational users will utilize. Note: The graphically depicted solution is not included in the required page length but must be included in the design document appendix.
· Give one (1) recommendation for solution providers that could help your company secure a firm advantage by using analytics and cloud technology.
Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:
· Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
· Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.
· Include charts or diagrams created in MS Visio or Dia as an appendix of the design document. All references to these diagrams must be included in the body of the design document.

Part I
1. Search the internet for news about security breaches in healthcare and other industries in the last three years. Suggested source for the latest breach information from the Office of Civil Rights: Source: HIPAA Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Audit Program: United States Department of Health & Human Services. Retrieved from  http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/privacy/hipaa/enforcement/audit/index.html
2. Write a critical essay summarizing the two cases. In your summary, identify the principal threats in each of these cases and what could have been done to minimize these threats.
Part II

Health Information Confidentiality

The HIPAA is designed to protect the privacy of individuals’ health information. The Health Information and Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act was passed as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, in part, to strengthen the HIPAA rule and notification requirements in the case of a breach.
But information collected by various health departments, like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) is typically “confidential,” not “anonymous.”
“Confidential” denotes identifiable information linking you to the subject matter, but which will not be disclosed.
“Anonymous” refers to the existing subject matter that cannot be linked back to you.
Using the South University Online Library or the Internet, research about HIPAA and the HITECH Act to find out how they protect health information of individuals. Based on your research and understanding, provide answers to the following questions:

Gender Equality in America

For this assignment, compare one of the texts that we read for this module with a contemporary description of women struggling for equal rights in America. Choose a recent article from a newspaper, magazine, or journal, which describes an instance of gender inequality in America. This article should be no more than one year old (but the more recent the better).
For instance, you might choose a newspaper article describing the wage gap between males and females doing similar work, a journal article describing recent legislation geared specifically toward women, a magazine article describing unequal funding for women’s college athletics, and so on.
Once you have found your article, choose one of the Historical Documents we read in this module. You should choose a historical document that you think resonates most with the contemporary article you selected—this could mean that the article and document describe the same problem, or that the article shows that a problem in the document has been solved, or that the article shows new ways old problems manifest, and so on.
Write a 2–3 page analysis paper in Word format (not counting title and reference page) that describes the ways the historical document relates to the article you have chosen. You should describe ways the two texts are similar, ways they are different, and what these similarities and differences demonstrate about the changing—or non-changing—place of women in American society and culture. Include an APA formatted title page and reference page. Use the following file naming convention: LastnameFirstInitial_M4_A2.doc.

After reading the materials for this module, reflect on the forces that were used to prevent women from achieving full citizenship in America for most of its history.
Think, for instance, about the kinds of things that the young women in our readings said and thought about the life around them. How did they describe or think about their place in society? How—if at all—were they able to struggle against the social and cultural forces that constrained them?
For this discussion, name one cultural, social, or economic force you think might have played a role in preventing women from achieving equal citizenship. Why do you think this prevented equal citizenship? How did it affect or operate on women? How do you think this force made it difficult for women to work toward their equal citizenship?
Submit your responses to the appropriateDiscussion Area. Start reviewing and responding to your peers’ posts as early in the module as possible. Expand on your classmates’ posts to critically engage in the discussion. You can ask a question, post a comment, or add a point to expand the discussion. Write your initial response in 3–4 paragraphs.

Sociological Theory on Juvenile Delinquency

There are several theories that explain why juveniles become delinquent. Some of the sociological theories include anomie, social disorganization, drift theory, and differential association theory. Locate a sociological theory (it does not have to be one of the theories listed previously), and explain that theory with its relation to juvenile delinquency. Please note that sociological theories relate to society and external influences over a juvenile, not psychological influences (which relate to internalization within a person) or biological influences (which concern physical problems).
You are a sociologist, and you are noticing that the juveniles in your area are starting to cause legal problems and are beginning to overload the juvenile court system.
· Once you decide on the theory, describe how it relates to juveniles by explaining what the theory believes causes the juvenile problems.
· Explain what you could do in your position to aid in alleviating these problems.
Be sure to reference all sources using APA style.

Today, more than any other time in history, there is growing support to move away from nonrenewable resources towards developing renewable resources to meet current and future energy needs

Today, more than any other time in history, there is growing support to move away from nonrenewable resources towards developing renewable resources to meet current and future energy needs. Fossil fuels are nonrenewable resources that continue to negatively impact the environment. It is important to learn how these resources are formed since this process of formation is at the very heart of why fossil fuels are considered to be nonrenewable.
Using the readings for this module, the Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, research the nonrenewable resource assigned to you:
  • Coal
  • Natural gas
  • Petroleum (oil)
Note: You are assigned a resource based on the first initial of your last name. Last names beginning with A–J research coal, names beginning with K–R research natural gas, and names beginning S–Z research oil.
Respond to the following:
  • Describe how this nonrenewable resource was initially formed.
  • Briefly explain where the major reserves of this nonrenewable resource are located and how it is extracted.
  • Examine the environmental impact caused by the extraction process.
  • Explain how this nonrenewable resource is used to produce energy, and identify the pollution problems that are caused from this energy source.
Support your statements with appropriate examples and scholarly references.
Write your initial response in approximately 350–400 words. Apply APA standards to citation of sources.

Conflict may occur in any work environment, whether it is in the clinical setting, another department, or another organization.

Conflict may occur in any work environment, whether it is in the clinical setting, another department, or another organization. It is important to understand how conflict arises and how conflict is managed through effective communication.
The behavior of a leader has a direct impact on the motivation of his or her team. It is crucial for a leader to understand how his or her behavior and conflict-handling ability impact the care of patients.
Here is a scenario of a leader who is willing to handle conflicts in his or her workplace.
You are promoted to a management position in a small organization. There are four full-time members and three part-time members. You have a department manager currently overseeing the operations. You are excited to begin with your new assignment and have completed orientation. You heard some rumblings from the staff development team, “You have your work cut out for you in this department!” It does not sound promising, yet you are filled with energy, a positive attitude but a bit concerned as you do not want to appear bossy. You lack a bit of confidence since they are seasoned team members and you are new to the organization.
Once you begin your first day, you decide to meet with everyone as a group and individually over the next few days. What you are uncovering is disturbing and you quickly realize that the team members have lots of conflicts within the department. In a nutshell, this is what you have discovered:
  • The department manager thinks she is in charge since clients, customers, or patients have specialized needs. She is stern faced and does not seem to smile, yet she does not admit it is her or her department’s fault if there is an error. She seems to enjoy the increasing conflict among the unit as it takes any “pressure” off her and she can continue to “tell people what to do.”
  • Two full-time administrative staff members do not like each other and refuse to work together. One feels the other cooks “strange food” and cannot understand her when she speaks, and she is too quiet. The other staff member feels the first one is too outspoken and not gracious and hurries through her assignments. They share a small office and their work is critical to the success of the organization as they oversee all billing, accounts payable and receivable, and schedule the large projects and services to other organizations. The rest of the staff members avoid going to this office as the tension is clearly increased in this room.
  • The part-time staff feel they are not being offered any extra shifts and sometimes they are asked not to come to work if the day is slow. They feel they are not valued and are demotivated by less pay. This is a critical time for them due to the economy crisis. When they are at work, they often bring their home problems with them and seem stressed when they have to work with the other team members.
Answer the following questions:
